Now that is a lovely marked L134! I have four, I believe them to be 2 males and two females but that are not adults yet. Only one has very dark black stripes, do they get darker or paler as they become adults? I know my zebras became more pale as they got older.
If it's not a L134, it could be L173/L236 (Pg 133 Aqualog L numbers), L199 (Pg 147), maybe L287 (pg 200). Also L316 (Pg 209)
Aghh..I gave up. Only 3/4's through the book and too many. Need a scientist to look at it.
Good luck.
Just thought I'd add a picture of my dominant L134 male for posterity. He's a wee bit rotund, and confused about the direction you're supposed to face in your cave!
I don't have any pictures of my females, but yes, the whole colony has some odontodal growth. This is just the fish that owns the cave, hence, the dominant male . I may be restructuring their tank a bit in the coming weeks now that they are conditioned, so I'll try to get some pictures then!
For all you pro's, my bunch of females now stay at the bottom of the cave like a compressed cake, only coming out to eat, sometimes they stay at the entrance waiting for something, is this normal?
I think that i only have a male for all the girls.
Not sure on price but I assume you mean $25.00, and that sounds reasonable to me.
They really are great plecs. Very attractive and out going. Mine are always out and about in my 55 gal community tank. They grow slightly larger than Zebra plecs but shouldn't get more than 4".
Planetcatfish has a great article on spawning. I don't think they are too difficult to spawn.
They are lovely ,arent they?.
I too have about 10 and hope to breed them too. The females are filling up nicely.
So many fish to breed and not enough breeding tanks !!!!!
