Please help - any zebra breeders in Scotland.

Post by Debbie »

Hiya

I have been studying and researching the Zebra Pleco for a while and would really like one for my new tank. Is there any breeders near by who would be able to sell me one around the end of July 2007 as that is when the tank will be fully ready. I live in Fife but willing to travel a few hours to come by one.

If anyone will have some ready around this time you can email me on the email that is showing. Thanks.

Hi Debbie.

You'll have a hard time finding someone on here that will sell you one zebra. The most of us are trying to breed them and feel that other should be doing the same.

If you were to be looking for a group of 3 or 4 to breed - You'll have a lot more people that will step up to help you out ;)

Other than that I'd suggest keeping an eye on eBay. people do sell single fish on there - but they are normally very small and quite expensive ;)

Ok thank you so much for your reply, I would be happy to buy a group of 3 and if i did this would most likely be the only fish i would keep in my new tank. But I just don't have hundreds of pounds to spend. Might just have to wait and see if eventually they might come down in price.

Can you recommend any other pleco that is nice looking but mabey not as pricey.

I agree with with the Queen Arabesque or King Tiger, also I would suggest the L129 which is a lovey little fish. That and a fair few of the ancistrus species, L182 or L183 or even the Marbled Ancistrus! All beauties IMO! :D
