Breeding Caves

Post by Rob »

Ok, so here's the first post in here!

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in slate caves. I will post a photo over the next few days.

They can be made out of 10mm slate or simple roofing slate, and made to any dimension. They can be several connected or stand alone, whatever you can fit in yer tank.

let me know and I might see if it's worth the postage and packaging etc.

cheers

Hi Rob,
If you have any caves available one or two might be useful, if not a couple of photos and dimensions would help us budding cave vreaters
Cheers

HI Guys

Here are a few pics of some of the cave. Please bear in mind that these are quite rough, as they were made in haste.

The four bay caves can be made of varying sizes, with door facing opposite ends. i.e one door at front, one door at rear, one at front, one at rear.

This allows a single tank to be split up into two seperate territories.

Otherwise the caves can be to any dimensions, either one. two or four bay.

I'm going to post a section in the website showing dimensions and how they made.

I currently have single caves in my tanks. This will change however when I finnish the fishroom, which is a 3 teir 34"x15"x15".

When the tanks are finnished, in each breeding tank there will be two, four bay cave, with alternate entrances.

One four will sit on the other four forming a divide in the middle of the tank.

Then there will be random single and double throughout the setup.

Thats The Stuff

I also use roofing slate, as it is slightly lighter to work with.

Only problem with the floor stuff is you need to watch that you don't use stuff with high calcium deposits
