My personal opinion in buying zebra's is if i can't pick them up myself i will not buy them.
Have made several trips of 1000KM to germany to pick some up myself.
And i am planning my next trip at the moment
But for some members on this forum i think it might be usefull, but never a guarantee to get nice healthy fish.
Greetings,
John

Good for you John, that was a great present from the wifey. Joking aside I can't complain either as my wife is very tolerant of the fishkeeping, I have seven tanks indoors.
I couldn't agree more about collecting zebras in person if at all possible. I have collected all of my own zebras, I've done a fair few 300+ mile round trips. Of course there are no guarantees to getting healthy fish but you certainly increase your chances by collecting them.
Hi ApacheDan
I am one of the 4 others that got ripped off from Dietmar a couple of years ago. The German girl. But I did buy zebras from this new guy (his name is Imer). He is not the same guy and I got my zebs this time. He is a little steep with his prices but legit. I have 5 beautiful little juvies in my tank along with my two adults I got over the past couple of years.
While Dietmar left a bad mark for Germans, Imer is not the same person. Matter of fact even so he is living in Germany he is not German at all but speaks it very well.
Hope that helps clear some of this up.
I believe this forum has already found out that Imer is not quite as reliable as he should be. (understatement of the yerar?) Search for Imer and you'll find several threads about this individual.
Whoa, I had no idea he had this many problems. I took a chance since he offered me that I could pay after I get the fish and all went well in my case. I thought he was just getting a bad rep because of the other guy. Maybe I need to stop defending him.
Regarding the last post there from today.
This guy has a questionable reputation. (to put it in a really nice way)
As stated on this forum you are supposed to contact a site's mod before posting in this section so i suppose there must be some sort of permission be granted to allow you to post there.
I wonder what the policy is to give this permission.
Greetings,
John

Rob is giving out reference numbers to those that whish to advertize in the commercial sales section.
Imer is not a commersial sales person, so this situation wouldn't arise.
But I guess you're asking if a known scammer would be allowed to post in the commercial section? I can't see that happen. But when that's said, the site cannot take responsibility for transactions done through established contact on the site in any case.
Nobody shoudl be able to post in teh commercials ection ow unless they are a member of teh Commercial Section Group. I am unsure about the post that has been removed, but I will find out who and how it was posted.
As for Imer...I do try and take a compeltely unbiased opinion in most cases, but as a one off I would say, buy from Imer at your own discression.
I have heard so far of 11 people in person who have given Imer money and recieved no fish. Some poeple have parted with over £500 and recieved nothing but excuses followed up by refusal to answer telelphone calls or e-mails. We gave Imer the benefit of the doubt on this site as there were members that highly recommended him. This was paid back with what I would class as a complete disrespect of the site, it's members and myself. Imer took great advantage of both myself and various members with blatant lies fanciful stories.
If you can pick them up yourself then go ahead. If you are willing to take the risk then go ahead, but please please be careful.
Rob
