Keep it simple, that's a good idea, because they are not demanding fish.

A great start, not a big fan of the gravel though hypans prefer sand as it's softer against their bellies.
Mine also like to move the sand around to "scape" their own hiding places, have a look at this vid:

If they try this on gravel the fish risk damaging their soft bellies.

ty for the comment yeah i like it simple to easy to move it around if you need to and easy to clean it..


about the gravel it looks alot bigger on the pics then it really is. and i have but it togheter with fine black sand tho., the gravel is about 1-1,2 mm and the sand is 0,2-0,4 mm. i choose to use the that one becouse i dont want the sand to move around to much.
but i see your point i got a few aquarium with really fine sand in to but those are bigger, so the sand stay where it belong:) hehe
