Reducing PH level

Post by rynwilliams »

I have my 2 ft tanks setup with my 4 zebra Plec's in it.

The temp is 31 and the TDS is 130.

My problem is tht the PH is 7.9-8.

I am using RO water mixed with normal tap water at around 85%/15%

How can i reduce my PH

I am using an external eheim filter and powerhead inside.

After a bit more research i have found SEACHEM NEUTRAL REGULATOR and also some peat balls, these are both said to lower ph to 7 or lower.

Also have been told that having my powerhead with the venturi on wont help as it may increase the ph.

Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

Have you done a proper test of your tap pH? That is fill a glass, add an airstone for a couple of hours to bubble, then test it. Also what are the KH levels?

What is in the tanks aside from the water and the fish.
What makes the common person uncommon is common sense.
