There are a total of 7 zebras - 2 are most likely female, 3 are most likely male, and 2 were too difficult to sex last time I exmained them (about 1 year ago).

There are now a total of 5 caves in the place - although 2 of them are only "play caves" that get explored at night and vacated by morning because they get full morning sun from the window.

I find the flat rock and other decorations locally and I personally made all the caves in this tank of slate tile from Home Depot.

Still no spawns to date (the zebras are all probably 2.5-3 years old), but in the recent months I haven't tinkered with the setup much and the zebras have really taken to the caves much more and the males are in the caves and females hang out nearby. I am hopeful this is my year!

Very nice set up. Is it very hard to keep clean ? Good luck with the zebs.

I don't vaccum the sand that often as to not disturb the zebras - and can't really vacuum the sand under the rocks. Every so often I sitr up as much sand from under the rocks with my hands and it does the trick. I also have an impressive clean up crew of assassin snails which help aerate the sand and red cherry shrimp which keep the place tidy. Believe it or not the zebras root around in the sand as well! I find the tank fairly easy too keep clean.
