I went to the fish store to buy some slate for my zebras. They charge $2/lbs so it would run at least $100 to furnish my 60 gallon.
I went to a hardware store and picked up some slate from there. Is there any specific slate that I need or will any slate work for them?
Thanks!

As long as its real slate and not man made roofing substitute, it is fine from a builder. be wary of shape edges might need to file, thats all.

I got it from Orchard Hardware supply and they told me Mother Nature created it. So I guess it sounds like its good?
