substrate

Pretty much explains itself really. If you have questions about tank set-ups, tank furniture, (caves etc) chuck them in here!

substrate

Post by will74 »

What kind of substrate would be the best for trying to breed zebs? I have river rock or pool filter sand or would a mixture of both be ok? With 6 wild caught breeding size fish how many caves should I have? Also how big should I make the caves?

though most of my tanks are bare bottom I have medium grain sand in with my group of 4, 1male and 3 females. All in all I don't think it matters whether you use substrate or not.

I have one slate breeding cave, 1 inch tall, 1.5 inches wide and 6 inches deep and several terra cotta "breeding" pots. I would try to have 1 slate cave per male if you know the ratio.

I think I still have a rough photo of the "amazing" tank in the gallery
