CAVES: ROUND OR SQUARE ??

Pretty much explains itself really. If you have questions about tank set-ups, tank furniture, (caves etc) chuck them in here!

CAVES: ROUND OR SQUARE ??

Post by vanillarum »

Hi gang. I'm in the process of collecting stuff for what I hope will be my zebra tank. I couldn't help but noticing that in most, not all, but most, of the pictures, the caves are round, and, they look like clay. Does the shape of the cave make any difference ? Or the material that it is made from ? The caves that I have for my plecos (2 x L399, 1 candy stripe, and 1 vampire (although it looks more like a white spot to me, it was sold to me as a vampire) are ceramic and round. Do the zebs have a preference ? Sorry for all the questions, but I do want to do it right. Thanx for any and all info.

My adult males prefer the round clay ones.
Greetings,
John

Of about 32 or so spawns, all but two have been in one of two small rectangular slate caves. One was in a bambu cave and one in a clay clamshell type cave.

Here are the two caves with males advertising:

What makes the common person uncommon is common sense.
