Chikutan Shelter

Pretty much explains itself really. If you have questions about tank set-ups, tank furniture, (caves etc) chuck them in here!

Chikutan Shelter

Post by TDI-line »

Anyone used one of these..

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brand-New-Japan-C ... dZViewItem

I just bought a small one for my Crystal Red Shrimp tank, the whole cave is made from one piece of charcoal (i think). On the box is shows CRS and zebra plecs, and shows a photo with a few zebs in and around the cave as if it were a breeding cave.

Just wondered if this was safe for Zebs or not.

I bought mine from Aquaessentials.com

Yes but only for crystal red shrimps - although all over the packet there are pictures of zebra plecos using the cave I can't see them being harmful at all.

Thanks for that Jo, just never heard of putting charcoal in a fish tank.

I still don't feel confident putting this in with the Zebs, i'll see how the CRS do first.

Richard at AE said they would be SS grade, so would hope so.

What grade are yours?

Mine are only babies, i have about 24 in a nano planted tank. Bought from my lfs, for around £3 each.
