monitor your tank

Pretty much explains itself really. If you have questions about tank set-ups, tank furniture, (caves etc) chuck them in here!

Hi
Never seen it before. Not sure on the benefits over water testing and looking at your temp thermometer, another time saving gadget.

well... if you ever experience your fish being cooked overnight by a runaway heater while you sleep, you might apreciate a warning that wakes you up ;)

That's why i purchased this one:

http://www.dennerle.com/HG09UG02.htm

I've got a 75 watt heater cable and a 300 watt heater with it.
The 75 watt heater cable is in my sump and keeps my system on temp 99% of the time, my 300 watt heater which is in the tank almost never comes on.
I keep the temp probe in the tank in case the pump fails.
This device has a acoustic and optical alarm and has also the feature where you can lower your temp during nighttime.
Cost me an arm and a leg, but so did the zebs.
Greetings,
John

I use a software called Aquarix... believe me... if you want to depress yourself get an expense tracking software... you never realise how much you spend on the hobby till you start tracking it all... lol

Mind you it doesn't cause me to spend any less

That looks interesting McEve, prices would be handy though. I have no real interest in aquarium software but if I can combine hardware/software with my tank that would be brilliant...
At present I'm using some system 2000 equipment, which works well but the company has gone into receivership so getting spare parts is getting harder and harder... :(

Never thought of it like that although i space heat the fish house and this is on two timers in case one should fail, ok if it sticks on but not good if it goes off although the insulation would keep them warm until i did notice.

I also use Aquarix but dont log cost i dont want to keep evidence of costs !!!
