They are selling wild-caught zebras???

Post by ApacheDan »

Check out this place:

They are advertising L046 wild caught 2" for $275-285. Price sounds right, but how can they get wild-caught? Does 2" for wild caughts sounds fishy? Has anybody done business with these people...I'm seriously interested. Thanks.

I have had this discussion with someone else recently the wilds at 2" IMO can only be one of two things
1. Not wild caught and tank bred.
2. Wild caught and shipped after the export ban a lot of fish are smuggled.

So it is upto you on how you feel about it all really, there is no way that at 2" they were caught before the export ban.

Dan, I just recently bought some L333s from this guy (Jeff), and he is a great guy to deal with. From talking to him, I would say that if he says that they are wild caught, then that is what his provider is telling him. I would buy fish from him again in a heartbeat. Good luck. Dan.

Illegal exports for sure. But Jeff is a reputable seller so the fish should be as he represents. My L-134s came from him.

The prices and demand for zebras has led to a lot of illegal exporting in the past 6 months or so.

I simply asked Jeff Rapps about it and I'm satisfied they were sold to him wild caught.

I don't know him personally but I know he has a solid reputation in the hobby.

Decent guy too from my brief conversation via email.
