dominant male

Post by will74 »

After several spawns my dominant male seems to have totally abandoned his spawning cave, can anyone explain this weird behavior? Just thought I would add that he has not chosen a new cave but instead seems to be acting like the females and just meandering around the tank hiding in all the usual places that females and sub-dominant males do. Could it be because he is worn out and is searching for food? Should I feed more? Or is this normal behavior and nothing to be concerned about?

Mine does that too. I think he does that for two reasons. First he wants to eat more and fatten up a bid. Second he wants to socialize with females. I don't think it will last very long for your male and he will soon be ready to take another spawn.
