Few of my males has claim their caves. You think they're ready to mate? Should I put a slate on the front of the cave? So they can hang out outside.

Either that cave is far too big or that male is tiny. The cave should be a tight fit, so that when the female comes in, she cannot escape.
Search this forum for cave sizes and dimensions, but I think its something like, but do check.
14.5cm long by 2.5cm high and 3.5cm wide.

Based on your pic, I think you have a standard zeb cave and your male is still a little too young to breed. Usually males take a bit longer to ready; about 3.5 to 4 years. Good luck.

Is this the exact inside diameter that I should make?

Your cave size is spot on, so fingers crossed on the mating.
