Asking your help on adding more L046's into my tank

Post by A1player »

Hi & thank you for taking the time to read my question.
I have set up a tank following all the rules ie RO water , very good filteration & flow rate , good diet etc for my first 3 Zebs which are about 6 months old & 1" in size & doing realy well,......
Now my question is i have been given the chance for another 8 which have just been hatched so......
how long untill its safe to take them out of there current tank & move them into my tank ,ie if i wait untill they are 4/5 months old and about an 1" will they all get on with the 3 i have now as there will be about a 6 months between them & the first 3 will be about .1/2" bigger.
If you have any advice that may help please leave your coments.
Regards
Steve

If they are costing you money then I would not even think about risking my cold hard cash until they were about 1"

If the circumstances are different - eg the guy needs to sell up quickly or something... then I'd risk it if there was not a lot of money involved.

try to get as much of the water they are in as you can...

moving them when they are young is risky... water changes when they are young can be risky!

I wouldn't really buy any zebra under 3/4" minimum!

I would wait till they were at least that or 1" as stated above. As for adding to the group I don't think it should be much of a problem since they will all be still young and territory is probably not going to be much of an issue.

I will not even think about selling my fry until they have reached both a minimum of over one inch and also over 6 months in age. I prefer longer and older though.
What makes the common person uncommon is common sense.
