Too many caves???

Post by markbravo »

Im planning to setup a 125L tank for x5 young zebra plecos. Is it a bad idea to have too much caves? Im planning to get these specially made pleco cave sets from ebay... seller said it could be a bad idea as the unhoused caves could hold debris and poo which would be bad for the water quality.. thoughts on these guys? Thanks!

Debris and poop can end up all over a tank and still need to be removed. I keep more caves than fish usually and I also poke my siphon hose into any cave with gunk in it during weekly tank maint.. But if you have ever watched a dad in a cave, he fans and bounces. They can clean a cave some if they want :).
What makes the common person uncommon is common sense.
