Hi from the frozen wasteland of Northern BC!

Post by Chiad »

*waves* Hi everyone!

I recently discovered plecos (and would now happily kiss my bristlenoses for how clean they keep one of my tanks... if I could /catch/ them!) and even more recently saw and instantly started drooling over L46.

I don't have any Zebras, and quite honestly probably won't have any until I move (if then), but only because it's (nearly) impossible to get anyone to ship fish to me and especially not in the winter!

The fish that currently inhabit my tanks are:
Gold lyretail guppies (How many? Who knows, I tried counting when I moved the recent batch of fry, and quickly gave up.)
Glo-light tetras (nine)
Rathbuni tetras (four, and desperatly searching for more)
Bristlenose plecos (two)
Corydoras trilineatus (three)
Corydoras pandas (three)
Clown plecos (four)
...my fish are trying to drive me crazy...

Hi Chiad

Welcome to the forum Chiad, glad you found it. I take it it is a tad cold up there in BC at the moment. I've spent a great deal of time in the Albertan winter (my moms canadian), and thats enough for me. I expect BC is even colder.

As for the zebras, good luck, and Hopefully you will be able to lay your hands on a couple when you move.

Welcome on board, and have fun in the snow!

Hi Chiad and welcome to the forum,

It's always nice to see another new member onboard :D

Looks like you've been bitten by the zebra bug, good luck with the move and with finding some zebras.

Regards.

*waves to everyone*
Hi!

Tristan -> the pics on the link in my sig are just of my fish, I'll probably have pics of my tanks up sometime soon. :)

Adam -> ^_^ Thanks! I think I've actually managed to track down a source in the city I'll (hopefully) be moving to. As for moving, well, I've already moved once with one tank, a move with three tanks can't be too much worse... *laughs*

Rob -> Most of BC is warmer than Alberta... except possibly where I live! *laughs*

Didn't I already hear a story about zebra plecos in Canada that were supposed to be $40, turned out to be $80 and some had less than pristine shape? Hmmm, I'll have to see if someone chimes in on this one. My oldtimers is kicking in....

*bounces* Fraser Valley? Well, I'm north-west of Prince George, but my dad goes down to Vancouver fairly regularly, so I might be able to tag along with him on his next trip.

^_^ I've become quite good at transporting my fish long distances. My record so far is 18 hours, in winter, by car. (And the only reason I haven't broken that record is that I haven't had to travel any further with fish.)

I'll definately be in touch next time I'm down that way!
