Easy folks, this cat is a real gem. He never hurts the fish, he just likes to watch them. And he is always the first to welcome new arrivals during acclimatization.
On the two occasions over the past 7 years we had fish jumping out of their tank due to territorial fights the cat came to the study to get us and took us where the fish were - so we managed to save them. He adores watching them (he does this for hours) and he does try to separate the big ones (unsuccessfully, but still ...) when he sees them getting involved in a fight.
Surely people know not all cats hurt fish ..... In any case, we'd love to see the cat that can catch one of these little fellows, they have the comparative advantage (they love water) and they are masters in hiding
