And here we go, rainy season is on. :)

-Air pressure from 1050-> 1030 and dropping.
-TDS from 160 -> 100 in first 60% wc, made another next day from 100 -> 60
-Food changed to bloodworms and shrimp
-Temp drop from 30 celsius to 25 celsius, put back heater later and its now staying at 27
-Lights shut down
-More flow
-More oxygen
-Added almond leaves to prevent harm to possible spawn.

Now gonna keep up 20% wc every day for few weeks.

And keep praying. :)

There was no big changes in ph, only tested it twice. We have really soft tap water so normally ph is around 6, it went up to 7 or so at dry.

It's been over 3 weeks from the start of rainy season. Stopped the waterchanges a week ago. There was no spawn from any of the plecos. Was hoping that even l-201's would have made a spawn, but no. Feeling a bit dissapointed. In my mind all the parameters should have been correct. Gonna wait a month or two before starting over again.

I had the though of could my male zebs be too old for spawning? I can't tell their age, but it might be around 10 years. They were sure male adults when they came to me 2 years ago. Should I remove the old ones and give some more space to the younger ones?

Zebras are smart- they sort out the who gets to spawn thing themselves pretty well. I know of a breeder who last year got a spawn from his 19 year old male.

As an above poster noted, zebras can be notoriously difficult to get started. Many a keeper has thrown up their hands and disgust and done nothing only to have them spawn on their own down the road. there is no way to know.

I found that when mine were cranking they would spawn for about 7-8 months on and about 5-5.5 off.

I'm only concerned about those females, that maybe they don't wanna spawn. I've heard that only 1 in 4 females is willing to spawn and I bet I have those 3 that won't. Would you recommend trying to find more females? Is it so that males shouldn't be infertile? Just finding adult females in Finland is almost impossible and even if possible, costs like crazy. :(

I had a dozen breeders in my tank when I had 3 simultaneous spawns eggs in one cave, wigglers in another and almost free swimmers in a third.. Most times it was only two. I would say that one out of four thing is an urban myth.

Hey jsalas.

Well the only thing that I think that made difference was that I separated 1 male and 2 females from the rest of the group. But everything else, almost like I described before.
