Fry saver?

Post by Sigmar »

What is it? Is it beneficial? Why wouldn't you leave the fry in your breeding tank with the adults? Asking cause for one never had heard of it and seems to be somewhat popular with those breeding L46's. Thanks

It's a small aquarium hanging in your breeding tank using the water of the breeding tank which is cycled through it.
I personally use it to separate the cave with male and eggs just before hatching, this way no wigglers will disappear in the breeding tank.
After hatching and when yolk sacks are consumed i put the male and cave back in the breeding tank and provide a small cave for the fry, this way i got all the fry in a small space and can feed them more efficient.

A good DIY example is found here:
