My 2 adult males are NOT both Males

Post by I_Need_Zebras »

Checked on my 2 adult males last night, both were in the cave, oh no there fighting I thought, woke up this morning thinking one will be dead as he has to prove his might, but NO, I found the big male in his cave guarding a clutch of eggs, something tells me these are both not males.

I'm a happy Daddy, I can count approx 13 eggs. WhoooooooHooooooooo

What makes you so sure they are not both males.....the eggs?

Everyone told me my two biggest were males and a similar event to yours happened and now I (we) know better.

Congrats!

Congrats! One of my best producing females was one people had repeatedly told me was a male ;). That's awesome that they decided to reward your patience! Now you'll need to get pics of both of them at some point for comparison so we can all benefit from knowing why she's still female when she must look pretty male, hehe.

I was told I had everything from 11 females to 11 males when I was trying to sex mine. Don't worry, it happens ;).

Are you sure the eggs are not adopted? :P

Congrats- surprise spawns are the best ones.
What makes the common person uncommon is common sense.

Booohooooo,

4 Days on and the male has kicked all the eggs out of his caves, all eggs were damaged and split.

Hopefully it won't take them too long to try again.

It's not at all uncommon for the first spawn to be infertile. It's still a very good sign that they spawned! Just keep doing what you're doing. They obviously liked it ;).
