I've seen it before, it looks like pec finns are "reversed".
Not shure of the cause though..
Does all the fry have it?
Greetings,
John

:( oh no, feel sorry for you. strange that its happened to the whole spawn. has it happened to any of your previous spawns you have had?

any chance of some better pics, close up and from above, i think its very weird that the fins have become developed the wrong way arround... :? :? :?

cheers, J

3 spawns now and all defected!
I cant get a grip of it.
Atm im using 50%Ro/and 50% carbon filtered tapwater.
Ph 7-7,5
µS 110
temp 28,5
kh1
gh1,5
nitrite 0
nitrate 10mg/l

Can it be the nitrates ?
I change 10-20% each day

I have never heard of the deformity but 10-20% daily water changes to keep the nitrates at 10 raised a flag along with the low KH / GH if those readings are degrees.

low KH can cause ph swings and if you were doing weekly water changes your nitrates could reach toxic levels. More frequent water changes can also stress the fish especially if the parameters are matched. Not saying they aren't.

I have no idea if that could cause what you are seeing or if it is genetic but rectifying it would rule it out.

Where did you get that mature parents from? Maybe they are from the same spawn so you spawned brother and sister?
