Barbie was right - the hornball is kicking them out...

Post by INXS »

I didn't wan't to post the fact that the alpha male is or rather was on spawn number 5 with just one measly offspring surviving.
I came home tonight and checked on him - never thought that Barbies advice would be right (again after the umteenth time)

He had kicked his kids out of the home again - apparently the testosterone level of this male is of the scale and he just tries to get the kids out as quick as possible so he can get back an shag with another girl.

I did manage to suck 4 babies up and put them in a net breeder. We shalll see.

Maybe I should have taken a cue from MrShagadellic...

He's not kicking them out on purpose ;). They get too energetic with the whole fanning and being excitable thing and poof, out they go. That no opposable thumbs thing makes it difficult to retrieve them, I'm sure ;). Put a nice big rock under the front of the cave next time, once you know there's an egg mass.

Honestly though, the ones that get loose in the tank usually do alright too ;), or mine always have. Then again, I haven't had many escapee's, since I tip the caves immediately on everything, hehe.
