My guess at #2 is: clown pleco.
It's not an illusion, it just looks like one.

They were sold to me as a snowball and a clown pleco. They have fattened up nicely since a bought them. Both seem to love squash. The clown pleco comes out often. Is it normal for a snowball to hide all the time? My fear is that I have too much light in the aquarium for him. I just have a normal florescent hood with two 24” 16 watt bulbs.

I hate to say it, but I agree. I’m not an expert but it’s quite obvious.
Ahhh….man! I hate when that happens.

Hi

The first one looks like my L201's, Hypancistrus Inspector.

And guess what I bought 6 and they're all females, I'm on the look out for males.

Dont get me wrong, I love the fish, but if mine turns out to be male ( you will have to decide by pictures  ) you can have it Dave. I think if it is a male he would be happy with 6 females anyway.

it'd have to be crazy to want to deal with the drama of 6 females, i can barely manage the one i've got ;)

The second one is almost identical to my clown plec (LDA22, L104, L162 etc.......) Hope you keep it for as long as I have had mine, I have had he for 13 years, I reckon she must be at least 15 years old now

I plan on breeding them actually. They are really cool to watch eat at night time.
