I think he means either or, identification is difficult unless you know their origin, and even then there is variation.

Pleco Fanatics has a forum where they try and identify plecos.

The first one is probably a Glyptoperichthys gibbiceps. The second is probably
G. scrophus. Hope this helps.

Top is common plec, bottom is gibbiceps...

You need a large tank to house them both. They do get quite big.

No, my name is from the military, playing war games and I would charge in. I have them both in a 75 gallon tank. This should be large enough for thier growth.
