Males? Females?

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

It is hard to sex the fish, especially from far way, your best bet is to take pictures like the ones below from sandstone's posts and it would probably be helpful to catelog them like he did.

Males tend to have a broader head and appear to have cheeks at which point the head runs straight back to the body.

Females have smaller, more curvy heads that appear to be curved all the way back to the fins. Females also tend to be smaller and fatter around the midsection.

Males also have odontodes (whiskers), that can be seen on the picture of the male (15), above, and illustrated on the picture below.

Hope this helps. If you still want second opinions try posting pics like sandstone's and I'm sure people will be willing to help.

If I had to guess... (and a lot of these i went back and forth with)
on the 2nd picture

F,F,M,M,F
F, M
M F

and i'd only say im confident on the bottom left b/c you can see odontodes

the one visable in the 3rd picture on the left appears to have a wide head, i'd say male to be safe.
and i don't know which one from the 1st pic is the one who's fins are infront of it on the left.

these are more or less guesses. if you want a better idea try to get better pictures of each fish

Second pic from left to right:

Row 1: ?, F, M, ?, F
Row 2: M, M
Row 3: M, ?

Some better closeup pics would be very helpful to give you a more conclusive idea though.
On a side note, great looking fish of a decent size, I thought your fish would be much smaller. :)
