Got 2 new zebz

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

Got 2 new zebz

Post by Jaz »

Just got 2 new zebs. Hope you can sex them.
Number 1 looks alot like a male, but don't know about number 2.

Both looked a bit unfeeded. They were in a tank with large discus, they might have not been fed that well in there. :(

Could not use attachment, it says some debug error.

Both look to males for sure, and mature at that.

I was told that the tiny white spots on the black stripes look weird. Is this some disease or could it come from poor feeding at last owner?

Here are some better pics.

I think because the photo is such a close up shot what we are seeing is normal odontodal growth for an adult male. If it were disease or parasites it would be much larger. Pretty sure it is just the odontodes on the scutes. 8)
