Help with sexing, please

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

Help with sexing, please

I have just moved my zebras to another tank, good time to photograph them.

Can you give me your expert opinion on the two three year olds, please

All seem be males. How are they? Do you put them in a same tank? They may starting fighting when time comes.

Thanks for your help, at least I know now that I need a female!

The two younger ones won't be mature for some time yet.

I have moved them into a 240 litre - plenty of caves, plenty of room for more!! They seem to have settled already - eating etc.

I personally think you have a pair.

No1 looks like a hairy female :)
Even well fed males dont look that plump ;)

how do they behave? (but even then - our breeding hairy female has her own cave)

Just dug this image out for you all to compare... this is our breeding female ;)

Hi Smithrc

Thanks for your input, this gives me hope. One is always in a cave the other is always under the bogwood although there is plenty of other caves he/she could go into.

Neither look very hairy - just have to wait and see - I still find them very difficult to sex from looking at them.

i see what you are saying laffen, there is always exceptions but females do always tend to be much plumper naturally.

as for this one im still not sure, my initial feeling was male because i can see some long hairs around the gill plates but as smith has already proven females can also be very hairy.... i dont think there is any way to be sure apart from waiting and see what happens.
