I just can't tell. Please help to identify...

We all know how difficult it is to identify the sex of these fish, so please post a picture in here and we'll try to help you (or at least give an educated guess!).

my gut feeling is a female, you have to wait a little bit till she gets a little plump and maybe try taking a good head shot somebody might be able to get it right when you have the whole fish in the photograph.

Why not? Nearly all my L46, male and female hang up in caves.

The one at the pics looks like a female for me.

How large in size can be considered adult size or mature size? the pleco with pic posted above is about 2.25inch. Is it considered young adult and breedable? Thanks you all for your responses.

It seems to depend on wether they are WC or tank bred. Tank bred tend to breed at a smaller size than WC. If this is due to tank bred not growing as fast as wild, (if this indeed is the case, I have noticed a few comments that might suggest this, but don't take it as factual statement  ) so that they are indeed old enough even though their size might suggest otherwise, or if it's due to them being "used to" to captive conditions I coudn't say..
