new tank SETUP for plecos.

If it's about fish in general, or it's a little bit random, then this is the place to post it.

new tank SETUP for plecos.

Post by Tankfull Tropicals »

I am building a rivertank set up for 7 Zebras in a 65 gal. there will be a filter rate of 13.5 times volume per hr. Is cave position important in relation to current. Also what would be a good substrata to use - Sand, gravel and what color :?: :?:

I use sand with mine but with that flow you would probably be better off with fine gravel.
I would think that you would want the caves perpendicular to the flow, so the water flows across the opening but doesn't blast in it.....

But my zebras have yet to breed so I am very far from an expert on it!

Fern, that advise does help and I appreciate other peoples oppinions. Expertise comes from the accumulation of Knowledge and the wisdom to use it wisely. Usually other peoples knowledge too. After all if we knew it all we would be pretty boring creatures for sure. Thanks :aok:
