German hobbyist robbed of 25.000 euro worth of zebra's

If it's about fish in general, or it's a little bit random, then this is the place to post it.

German hobbyist robbed of 25.000 euro worth of zebra's

A german hobbyist is robbed of 25.000 euro worth of zebra's.
Among the fish were 70-80 breeders, 30-40 subadults and a whole lot of youngsters and fry.
This hobbyist lost all his effort of 15 years with those fishes in one night.
All other plecs were not taken and just thrown on the floor to die.
Greetings,
John

Hi John
What a waste of time, effort, fish and investment it must be for them, do you know if the fish was insured,at that level £21,000 must have been?.:(
I can't find the thread on the site when I use your short cut and I'm using google translate maybe its me.

Thanks Jerry
Caution is a most valuable asset in fish keeping, especially if you are the fish.

Sorry, did not realize you have to be a member to view this topic on the german L46 forum.

Here is a piece from a german newssite:

The translation is not the best but you will get the idea.

John

I am sure its totally a coincidence, but there is a 0/0 seller from Berlin on Aquabid who posted 4 zebra auctions for smaller size fish in quantities of 10 to 40 fish each. 3 were posted May 11 to expire May 25 and one May 14 ending May 29.
What makes the common person uncommon is common sense.

All german hobbyists are informed through the german forums and the owner put up a 3000 euro reward

Fish were stolen later then auctions were started

This is such an awful story. I'm so sorry for his loss. If anyone can figure a way to get them to him, I know I'd donate a fry to help him restock and I can think of two or three other breeders here in the US that would probably kick in. I just don't have any idea if shipment is possible in any way that's feasible for their safety.
