is a ultra violet light any good for viewing zebs? as in do they see this light?

thanks also it will show up there white very good

My understanding is that UV is not a good light for tanks. Night viewing can be done using red kights which I beleive fish don't see. If you don't want to find a red bulb setup for the tank, you should be able to use lighting gels commonly used in theatrical/stage lighting.

The cameras we ordered for monitoring the fish had infrared light. The fish went ballistic!

As for UV-light, I wouldn't recommend it. UV-light would sterilise way too much, and would certainly sterilise any eggs caught in the light.
