Mine always hiding below the drift wood.

No
2x2x12
no sand just caves and driftwood only
2 air stone and 2 power head
1 heater 200w

I got mine in 18x18x12 with couple of driftwood and plants.

there is one driftwood is sort of bend and have about 1cm tall space between the bottom and driftwood and all of them just hidding in there.

One time during midnight I suddenly using torch and look at them and some of them are outside, but other than that all of them in there.

didnt realise you asked me this Q before. I got them since April at around 2-2.5cm couple of days ago i rearrange the tank and measure them and they've grown about 0.7cm roughly :D
