If your fish has a deformity, do you want to know?

If it's about fish in general, or it's a little bit random, then this is the place to post it.

If your fish has a deformity, do you want to know?

Post by McEve »

If you post a picture of your fish, if it is to have it sexed or just to show your new purchase or for whatever reason, and it shows a deformity, be it snubnose or anything else, do you want to know? Or do you find it offensive, hurtful or out of line if somebody comments on it?

I'd rather know, especially if the advice is being given to me by someone with much more experience. :)

We will have to do something about that then. That's why I included that option, to find out if it's percieved as not gentle by some :)

I apreciate the feedback!

I'd much rather know. I doubt I would euthanise the fish, but I definitely wouldn't pass it on to another keeper. I'd probably just keep it in a community to live out its days, but making sure I kept it out of the breeding programme. I feel that's my responsibility as a breeder of these fish. To make sure only strong lines and healthy specimens are sold or passed on to other keepers.

I say leave the fish alone, because you could do more harm than what's necessary!

likewise I would want to know, doesn't have to be gently. I can take it. :P

That said I would be gentle with the more "delicate" members. :jk:
