Hi Discusred,
It all depends on if it US gallons or normal gallons(what I know as UK gallons)
If it's US gallons then mutliply the number of gallons by 3.785
e.g. 50g x 3.785 = 189.25 litres
If it's normal gallons then you need to mutliply the number by 4.546
e.g. 50g x 4.546 = 227.3 litres
Sorry to make it even more difficult for you but as long as you know which standard you are working to you should be able to work the rest out.
Hope it helps

Perfekt for me!
Mostly just the USA and Canada use US gallon sizes for aquariums now days. I think most other countries just use the standard liters now. I read some where that the UK banned McDonald's from calling one of their burgers a "quarter pounder" a couple of years ago. Us Americans are too stubborn to put up with any government telling us how to think and Canada is sort of stuck getting aquariums from US manufacturers
That said, I wish the USA would convert over just to make everything easier. ( frankly I hate doing math in our system of measurements as everything is fractional) I help out or run a few international forums and had to learn to convert all measurements to facilitate communication. I think the internet will break down these barriers eventually
There are actually 3 different gallon sizes ( The UK gallon or "imperial gallon" , The US dry gallon and the US liquid gallon. The US dry gallon is closer to the UK gallon than the US liquid gallon)
