I have to say that this is a very clever idea. The benefits are equal to the negatives. But what sticks out is the ability to source a real female and somebody who is willing to rent in your area. Both unlikely. One other negative is how can you be so sure that you will get a spawn? :?: And if you'r...

I actually considered buying from this clown a few months ago. And he can understand and write perfect english when he wants to, or when the money is right. Needless to say this another example of why we should all steer clear.

As for other forums, they seem to avoid him like the plague.

Religion and politics are the prime causes of war. But who cares? We are here to discuss L046. I missed commenting on this one because there are a whole load of emotions floating about. I must say that I was one of those people "whinging" about expensive prices that Barbie was refering to....

I find this discussion very interesting. I like the notion that reducing prices would save our favourite fish from extinction in the wild. But the reality is that there wouldn't be much effect on the market unless eveyone adopted the same policy. That is altogether a different proposition and extrem...

Top is common plec, bottom is gibbiceps...

You need a large tank to house them both. They do get quite big.

Very cute...

I agree with McEve on the view regarding coming out in groups... Maybe there is an established pecking order already, one of my group of five is always out first and tail slaps any that get too close while he/she is feeding.

Very fascinating fish.

Congrats!!!

I guess it only makes sense that your alpha male has his favourite!

We humans do it all the time... if you don't find a partner attractive then you just last. And we act all shocked when animals do it... LOL

Again well done mate, all the best.

Hi queendustbunny, First and foremost congratulations. There's nothing like the first time you set eyes on your first zebra. Beautiful fish. Try not to stress too much... 3 in a 20 gal is good for now. Just make sure you over-filter the tank and stay on top of your water change regime. It's not a go...
