I bought my caves from Captain caveman, he's a member of the forum. If you drop him a pm he should be able to sort you some out.

Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

I bought my group of zebras from germany and was certainly relieved to have them arrive safely and in good health.

I hope your zebras all arrive safe and sound, it can be a nail biting wait.

Welcome to the forum. :)

That's a large collection of discus you have there. I have about the same number of Tropheus as well as 70+ babies.

Hope you manage to find some zebbies.

Looks nice and simple like you wanted, my only criticism would be that the open feeding area might not work.

I had an open eating area in between two caved areas with various hiding places close by because I found that the zebs like to know they're not out in the open, as such, when they're eating.

7 - 10 young'uns, that's not bad going; more than my lot have contributed up to now anyway.

I'm still hopeful my last spawn was successful but I haven't seen any fry yet.

Thanks McEve that's made me feel a little better. :) I thought it'd be the inexperience of the males. These are the 4th and 5th spawns I've had and up to now I haven't had any surviving fry, that might still be the case as I still haven't seen any, fingers crossed there are some in the tank somewher...

madmoroccan is right, they're certainly not ideal for beginners but if you've kept tropical fish in the past and you know how important it is to keep up to tank maitenance and the like then it ain't rocket science. I suggest you do a lot, and I can't emphasize this enough, of research in to how the ...

I tried a similar set up with old roofing tiles but it didn't quite turn out how I wanted so I ended up with a BB tank.

You're tank looks great though McEve.

Well unfortunately up to the time of typing this I've so far not seen any fry from the first spawn. :( Is it possible that the fry from this spawn have hatched, consumed the egg and left the cave? I haven't seen any eggs or dead fry near this cave. As for the other spawn, I have so far taken out 7 d...

I use Eheim filters on all my tanks, numbers 2222, 2026, 2028 and 2080. As well as keeping zebra's I also breed Tanganyikan Tropheus and they are almost as fussy as our beloved zebbies when it comes to water quality. It really is worth pushing the boat out for a quality product, afterall you get wha...

Thanks for the congrats. I assumed it was normal for him to keep the entrance blocked. When the fry have consumed the egg and are ready to leave the cave to eat does dad supervise them or just leave them to get on with it? Have the two males spawned in the same tank? How did you stimulate them? Yes ...
