Re: Hello
Welcome to the site. There is a wealth of information on zebras here as well as on a sister site, https://www.planetcatfish.com/ which os owned by the same person. If you are not aware of it, there is a great weekend fish event in Rocky Hill CT. in March. You can find out about it here https://north...

Re: WTB 10x-15x L046 Fry or Adults Group NYC Metro Zip 10901 or shipped
I doubt you will find an adult group at the price per fish you listed. I have two groups. The second is a mix of my F1s and some others I bought as part of a larger deal a few years ago. They are pretty much adult size, there are 13 or so and I would not sell them for $2,600 (200 each). My basic gui...

Re: Hi from Atlanta
Don't be nervous. I keep several species of pricey Hypancistrus and they get moved, or have their tank torn down, several times a year. The tear down is how I get to see them and to redistriubute/sell them. They handle it just fine. The one caveat is to be careful not to ding them with the frame of ...

Looks nice. Consider adding some wood. I find my plecos love hiding in and under it. The more cover the fish have, the "happier" they will be.

Re: Hi from Atlanta
Welcome to the site and the world of zebras. You may or may not be correct in sexing. The best way to do so it to vent them. There is a difference in the sex ratios you will get from wild caught zebras vs tank raised. Because of how they are collected, there tend to be way more males than females wh...

Re: Sweden
I have always been bad at sexing plecos. I can only do it one of two ways with any reliability. The most reliable method is to vent them. That is to have them put out their tube so you can see its shape. males have a pointed tube while females have a more rounded blob-like tube. She has to pass eggs...

Re: Add fish to the group
No matter how long fish have been in another trusted fish keeper's tank, the stress of being netted and moved can open them to illness/parasites/etc. I would suggest that you do quarantine yhem for a few weeks. If they do fine in your water during that period, then you are OK to move them in with yo...

Re: Fading zebra why?
Fighting can cause fading and even damage right through to death. That is why clearer pictures would be helpful.
And yes, they do fade, especially when in submissive mode.

The above Swedish translates as follows "Yesterday I picked out some eggs from a cave"
It helps if we all write in English since this is primarily and English language site.

Re: New Zebra tank build Information required please.
I only suggest two bottled bacteria products in terms of cycling. The best is Dr. Tim's One and Only Nitrifying bacteria. This is hard to find in the UK/Europe, but not impossible. The next best choice is Tetra's Safe Start. The nitrifying bacteria do not form spores. They reproduce by dividing. Whe...
