Oh, Tom, how awful - I can't really give you any advice it needs somebody with experience of this to help. Have you tried a 'search' as there are quite a few posts giving suggestions as to what might be happening.

I hope you manage to sort it out quickly.

Adam, lovely photos but that last one is something else - do you polish the substrate

They all look so healthy and well fed - what do you feed them on and have you any idea approx. how old they are?

Thanks, McEve I have left the light off since Wednesday - every day I use my little battery powered cleaner with the bag on it and vacuum up most of the green - I havn't removed the sand yet although some is sucked up with the cleaning. The zebras are eating but they have never been very active unle...

Thanks for reply, Barbie, not what I wanted to hear although I suspected something wasn't right as I have never experienced this type of problem before. I only added the sand substrate approx. 4 weeks ago and, although I only introduced less than 1/2" depth, they have moved it about and there a...

Barbie, How can I tell if it is a problem - I have two filters on the 70 litre tank - an external Eheim and the internal Jewel. I also have additional aeration. I have two zebras, 2 otos and 2 cory in the tank with a sand substrate and one cave and a piece of bogwood. I can tell there is something w...

Leigh,

I forgot to say, I wouldn't be able to buy them all, but would be keen to discuss the possibility of one male and two females.

Would this be possible?

Hi Leigh,

I would be interested - how old are they or what size and are they captive bred or wild caught?

Thanks

Algae in Zebra tank

Is algae a problem to zebras. I have a layer of algae over the sand - and although I attempt to clean it up daily it just reappears. I understand that it is caused by high Phosphate - the tank has been set up since February and the tap water is hard. I am due to do a water change tomorrow - I have R...

Well, you are all critical of your tanks, although I think they look absolutely amazing - they have everything that I would think the zebras need. Mine is extremely plain at the moment, after looking at yours, I think I will add a couple of plants. I only have two zebras who are in a 70 litre tank. ...
