It's probably a male, but honestly, that's a terrible picture to try to get guesses from. You can't see any of the details to make an accurate assumption about it.

For right now you should breathe into a paper bag and calm down ;). They're going to spawn when they are going to spawn and not a minute sooner or later. Us trying to guesstimate by really blurry pictures isn't going to change that. In the second pictures it looks like 2 males and 2 females to me, ...

The females won't hide in caves, and sometimes even subdominant males won't use them. I'd recommend some pieces of slate tipped onto a few of the caves for them to hide under. I have a piece of slate that's got a sort of arch to it's long straight shape and they love to wedge themselves in under th...

Chlorine offgasses all by itself in 24 hours. Dechlorinators get rid of it on contact. I don't pretreat any of my water on either the 1600 gallons at home or the 2600 here at the store with no issues. If they're shocking the system, a double dose of dechlor can be required. If it smells really stro...

5 times the tank volume turned over an hour is what I consider absolute minimum. It's not actually all that much flow, especially if you see the types of conditions these fish are collected in. The fact that they're out and struggling to breathe their very first morning is surely not a good sign of...

Some people say more males gives you more competition and squabbling to keep the females interested. It also diffuses the aggression amongst the boys, instead of on the girls. I have more females than males and no spawning at all, but I DID just discover their heater was releasing low voltage, so t...

Neons wouldn't be appreciating the temperatures needed to keep zebras happy. It's possible they are grabbing the ones that are slower or weaker, definitely. If your zebras consumed 15 neons overnight, they were VERY hungry. I'd concentrate on why, personally. I have kept a lot of fish with zebras a...

In these cases, the only ones I've ever saved were the ones that I removed to a 10 gallon aquarium with water from their original tank. I add additional aeration along with their filter and then dose with a broad spectrum antibiotic along with daily water changes. I also add a teaspoon or salt per ...

Honestly an FX5 on a tank that size would make it a jacuzzi. You'd never be able to get food to settle on the bottom of the tank with it. I've got one on a 75 gallon and it's probably twice as much filter as is needed even for it and I always use extra flow. Amazingly, my discus find a quiet corner...

These fish are still in the same tank and on their 7th or 8th spawn since then. I'm feeding the fry the same foods the parents enjoy and I'm so overrun with them I'm not bothering to take the babies and help them through that first little hump of learning how to go to the food. These things are lik...
