[/quote] The use of nets like that are to allow smaller fish to swim through so over fishing doesn't occure. And there are always fish left to breed. It has nothing to do with them not being able to transport younger fish. And like andrew i have also heard that younger fish ship better than adults a...

i have also heard that fry travell much better than adult fish. andrew Andrew, enlighten me here...since I'm trying to learn. Where did you heard that fry travel better than adult fish? I guess that Zebras fall under the clasification of Ornamental Fish, as defined by the aquaculture trade, but eve...

With all that being said I want to be in line for all the breeders that keep them for 12-15 months and I will pay you $125 a piece for them. Just let me know when they are ready! Sarcastic... aren't you? Nobody said anything about selling a 12-15 month zebra for $125. Personally, I rather pay a hig...

Exotic Finds...feedback

Just wanted to leave some positive feedback for Blue, from exoticfinds.net this morning I received seven (7) L046's zebra plecos and are doing just fine in my tank. The care that was taken packaging these pricey fish should be an example on how to do it right. Instead of using styrofoam, they went o...

I believe knowledge is power, so buyer beware. Obviously nobody put a gun to my head and forced me to buy 3/4" Z's. I bought this particular lot at Aquabid. When I inquired as to their age, I was told "around one year old". Now I know that no 3/4" zebra can be 12 months old, unle...

...and the morale of the story is....

...let's not be greedy, sellers or buyers. I got bitten by the Zebra bug & agreed to purchase five (5) 3/4" zebras. Last week I received the box by DHL Express, less than 15 hours later I was unpacking. Nice packing, bag buddies, heat packs, double-bags. Two arrived death, three barely surv...

too much for 2" zebras?

I already bought 3/4" and 1" zebras for $150 in the USA. I wonder if $250 for a 1 3/4" to 2" zebra is too much? anybody?

Ours have just spawned after 6 weeks without a water change.... . :) congrats on your spawn :D hopefully I'll be there someday. The case is different with growing juvies, 3/4" to 1", which is the only thing you'll find on the market today. Maybe I'm paranoid about getting them all a chanc...

Thanks guys. Nice to know I got the right idea. I'll probably decrease the daily % changed. I'm used to daily water changes from years of dealing with discus.

daily water changes?

I'm starting to build my colony from scratch & presently got 5 zebras, ranging in size from 3/4" to 1". They are currently housed in a 20 gal tank, sand substrate, bogwood, slate rocks, plenty of hiding places. Water temp is 82F, ph 6.5, outside filter turns water 5x/hour. In addition ...

I wish I read this before....too late now. exactly 7 days ago I bought a group of three - 1" zebras. In preparation, I thought about a planted 20 gal aquarium. Had it running for 10 days with a CO2 reactor. I also had a water heater siting in the sand. When I introduced the group, they all ran ...
