I use a scattering of crushed coral or a few shells to bring it up and wood to bring it down, I do it all in tank and naturally, safer and easier!

I keep my zebras in the dark, they only get light from some other tanks in the fish room during the day. They do have MTS ramshorns and assassin snails in there like all my other tanks....

I use sand with mine but with that flow you would probably be better off with fine gravel.
I would think that you would want the caves perpendicular to the flow, so the water flows across the opening but doesn't blast in it.....

But my zebras have yet to breed so I am very far from an expert on it!

2 are 3-4" and are wild, 3 are 2-3" and are F1. Usually carnivore pellets or massivore delight by hikari and new life spectrum thera A. I feed them at lights out so blood worms and other frozen treats are kinda rare.... On the wild ones I know I have a male and female and my bit\g girl is ...

I feed mine at lights out. I have only seen them eat a few times but everyone is nice and fat so they must be eating :lol:

a few of the man made hypan caves are nice to keep in there, my adult male has claimed one, I have 2 others in there just because. The 4 others are happy with the cracks and crevices. My tank is a 30 gallon.
