These two goals simply are not compatible. Well.... it just takes a little time to make. I use the current as third parameter. Lots of hides and driftwood and a fine current. After a while you'll see, where the calm places are. Here it simply has to be possible to clean up, because the food ends up...

Hello We know the Juwel quite well here. But I don't have one myself. 1) Dont change the impeller of filter. It is a internal filter, right? The filter bacteria dont work to well living in a hurricane. 2) To get a little more current, add another powerhead. 3) If you want another filter as a 2213 - ...

Hello A good friend of mine has made e x a c t l y the same pipes. He even claim - they grow better - since everybody has their own place. No stress => and they can use all their energy for growing. I don't really agree with this - because when I f.ex. see zebra youngsters, they always squeeze toget...

Hello I only see a problem if a young pair match, and the older male attacks the younger male. If the females prefer the older male - everything would be fine. I cant say it for sure (I also have an old "problem" male, who no female like at all - poor guy, and have seen before that he atta...

Hi im trying to stick to their original habitat where there are nothing but rocks and little wood Yes, but no Aquarium can ever copy the Xingu. The plants dont belong - but they make better waterquality. And the wood is simply very good to provide shadow. We can do our best to copy their habitat, bu...

Hello My personal opinion - it's looking great - beautiful stones. But it's to "naked" for Zebras. I would buy two nices pieces of bogwood (or three  ) - place them on the top of the stones and/or a little between them. But leave room underneath the bogwood. Then it would be perfect!...

Hi It's a little hard to say - knowing so little about your setup. Perhaps you could describe it a little more. Following could influence: 1) Age of fishes (very young - very old). Probably only fish in their best age will produce the big spawns. 2) Their condition (sufficient and good food) 3) &quo...

Hi Lary my only concern is the older fry attacking the newborns Don't worry. I deliberately place very young fry together with older fry. The older fry don't attack them or something like that. Instead - the older fry know how and where to search for food -and the younger ones just follows. I would ...

Hi Barbie All this accomplished was causing more snub nosed fry I couldn't agree more :) but injuring themselves against the sides of the container this opinion is new to me. I always found the topic were interesting. Anyhow, I am convinced, that snub nosed fry are caused by the environment - NOT as...

Hello from Switzerland

Hello everybody ! My name is Line, 40 years old, born in Denmark but living in Switzerland for the last 9 years. I had my first tank with 10, and since then I had tanks most of the time. I started with plecos some 5 years ago. I had the best luck with the L134, which I breed in nice numbers. But end...
