There are 33g longs and 45g longs that have the same footprint as a 55g, much better for a pleco tank!

You sound spot on!
Never use chemicals to alter PH you end up with a yo-yo effect on your PH from them....

:lol: Let me get the hang of the scalares first :lol: Oh I have been thinking altums, I have an importer near me that can get them! The discus are finicky so they are kinda on the back burner for now. I have 3 pairs and some odd balls but only one good fertile pair and they have to have other discus...

They like to hide in cracks and crevices and caves when they get older. 2 'spots' per fish is a good rule of thumb. Lots of current in the tank and keep the water clean and warm. Feed them well and they should be happy campers!

My larger female zebras tube has been down for like 2 weeks now........ She is full grown and the adult male has been in his cave as usual.... How long are their tubes down before they seek out a male? 30g tank with a wc adult pair and 3 2" F1's. Only the adult male has taken a proper slate zeb...

Its quite possible. Like the gravid spot on live bearers is the developed fry I would assume that on some fish under just the right light and just the right angel and just the right time Its quite possible to see the eggs!

I am yet again trying something new..... :wink: I'm in FL and the rainy season is coming soon. I have 5 zebras in a 30g tank, only one male and one female old enough to spawn though. I am going to be doing a 5-10g water change with mostly RO water with each rain. I will be opening doors and windows ...

If you are planning on moving everyone else into a larger tank that 33g will be perfect for a small colony of zebras.
Most folks keep them by themselves mainly due to the sheer cost of them.......

Ya.... shells and wood is the safest way, no yo-yo effect from them.
