Re: water changes & Feeding

There are 33g longs and 45g longs that have the same footprint as a 55g, much better for a pleco tank!

You sound spot on!
Never use chemicals to alter PH you end up with a yo-yo effect on your PH from them....

Re: What I'm breeding

 Let me get the hang of the scalares first  Oh I have been thinking altums, I have an importer near me that can get them! The discus are finicky so they are kinda on the back burner for now. I have 3 pairs and some odd balls but only one good fertile pair and they have to have other discus...

Re: water changes & Feeding

They like to hide in cracks and crevices and caves when they get older. 2 'spots' per fish is a good rule of thumb. Lots of current in the tank and keep the water clean and warm. Feed them well and they should be happy campers!

Tube down....

My larger female zebras tube has been down for like 2 weeks now........ She is full grown and the adult male has been in his cave as usual.... How long are their tubes down before they seek out a male? 30g tank with a wc adult pair and 3 2" F1's. Only the adult male has taken a proper slate zeb...

Re: Can you see the eggs inside the female?

Its quite possible. Like the gravid spot on live bearers is the developed fry I would assume that on some fish under just the right light and just the right angel and just the right time Its quite possible to see the eggs!

Re: Rainy seasons

I am yet again trying something new..... I'm in FL and the rainy season is coming soon. I have 5 zebras in a 30g tank, only one male and one female old enough to spawn though. I am going to be doing a 5-10g water change with mostly RO water with each rain. I will be opening doors and windows ...

Re: hi i am loki from southern ontario

If you are planning on moving everyone else into a larger tank that 33g will be perfect for a small colony of zebras.
Most folks keep them by themselves mainly due to the sheer cost of them.......
