All White Zebra???

I just did a quick scan of my breeding tank which also holds a bunch of fry. As I was shining my flashlight around to see what was up, it illuminated a fry which appeared to be all white. It has black eyes, so this means it isnt an albino. The fry appeared to be healthy as it behaved exactly as i wo...

tiger, I did not say AquaBid was in any way at fault. What I did say is that some buyers and sellers who use the site are unscrupulous, just as with anything else in life. However, AquaBid does nothing to investigate or to try an insure that those who buy and sell there are legitimate and it says so...

Well you are learning why it can be risky to do business on AquaBid. There is no way to know what the buyer did with the fish once they left your custody. His tank params could have been wrong for the fish, he may not have acclimated them right etc etc. Or, he may simply be out to try and rip you of...

Just an FYI- the AquaRank site is owned and run by the same person who owns AquaBid. Amazing how often AB is #1 isnt it? Another observation: Folks are supposed to be allowed to vote only once a day. When you vote, a cookie put into your Temporary Internet File in order to 'enforece" that. If o...

I have two males that spawned pretty much in rotation for a few months. I think once the alpha male is on eggs he rejects any other interested females. Since woman don't like rejection, they move on to the next most desirable male. After about 8 or 9 spawns the 2nd male seemed unable to attract the ...

The Max prefilters come with a series of adapters. elbows and a plug. The plug goes over the open end as a cap to the strainer part. This allows for stacking them. You remove the plug and use a connector and then the plug covers the open end of the second sponge. I have them on both my Eheims Pro II...

I don't know if its worth the shipping costs, but http://www.kensfish.com/fishforsale.html sells the Filtermax Prefilters as well as hydrosponges as cheap as I have seen them. He seems to ship internationally and that might be the rub in the cost, especially if one is all you want. He sells a lot of...

Its AquaBid- what do you expect?

The closing price for those fish is nuts, but note the winning bidder is a 0/0- ie never won an auction and never sold anything.

In January I will be offering larger/older ones for a heck of a lot less and will not be listing them on AquaBid for sure

Zebs Still Spawning

I just confirmed another spawn with the alpha male. This is either number 12 or 13 to date, I have managed to lose track if you can believe that. My best estimate of fry growing at this time is about 80. They range in size/age from just about 1/2 inch and 6 weeks to over 1.25 inch and almost 8 month...

A bit of both. I now have 3 tanks for zebs. The biggest is the breeding tank and there are still about 30 fry in there. I have a 10 and a 15 that hold 20 and 30 fry respectively. The process of collecting and counting the fry in the main tank seems to have paused the spawning. The males are still in...

I am doing well. Have colony of breeding zebras and about 80 assorted fry from them. Been chatting at Holics and FellowshipoftheFish. Drop by either some time and say hello :-)
