Re: Need help, Fry Traps

Hi I have had a quick search through the old posts to no prevail. I think your best bet would be to do a search using the above search facility and just troll through anything that comes up with "fry traps". I realise this will be a pretty long-winded way of doing it, but hopefully it will...

Re: G'day from New Zealand

Welcome on board Kiwizebra

If my memory serves me correctly we have had a few board members from a number of years back stating how difficult it was to get zebras out your way, so congrats on getting hold of some.

Good luck and enjoy the site.

Re: Greetings From Torrance

Hi Andy Definately one of the best introductions we have had on teh forum so far!! I tend to agree with Twotank about getting a less expensive plec to start with, however if you are determined to go for the zebras then have a good look through the site first, and ask as many questions as you want :-...

Re: Two zebra to sex

Hi AleGer

Based on the last photo I would say that one of the left was almost definately a young female. The one on the right however could prove to be a young male if it's odontodes (whiskers on its cheeks), continue to grow. Is the fish on the right quite plump form the side also?

Re: smallest size female

Hi Oscar01 The smallest female I have spawned was approximately 55mm give or take a few mm. That said she only spawned a couple of times and both spawns resulted on minimal numbers of eggs, (i.e. less than 5 ). If my memory serves me correctly the frist spawn was infertile and the second produced 3 ...

Re: I must have infinite patience or fish who understand Eng

Hi Twotank The first ever batch of zebra eggs I was successul with, resulted in one loan egg in a breeding trap after all the others went bad. I still have that zebra, and it was that zebra that made me set up the first incarnation of http://www.zebrapleco.com almost 7 years ago. So you never know w...

Re: Number of males to females?

Hi Stevie

All sounds good. I had a similar problem with one of my main groups a few years ago. Prolific breeders until the male died, and then it took a good 18 months before I could get them to match with another male.

Get a little Barry White on the in the background :-) !!

Good luck.
