2x Fluval internal 3 filters. Each capable of filtering a community tank of around 160 litres. I've tried turning them down to allow the water to go through them slower to see if that helps the bacteria, but so far its made no difference.

Zebra's and Ammonia toxicity

Ok, here is my problem.... I set up a 100litre tank a few months back. I have had ammonia in there ever since. I have 4 adult zebs in there and a few Cory's. The PH is around 6.0, Nitrite has never really been above 0. The Ammonia has been fluctuating between 0.5ppm and 1.5ppm since about a week bef...

My zebra water is 28c, PH at the moment I'm trying to get around 6.5 (its a fairly new tank). GH I think is around 9 but I think you should aim for about 5-6. I use tap water with Interpets 'Tapsafe' which 'instantly' makes tapwater safe for fish by removing Chlorine, toxic metals, adds Aloe vera so...

Ok, so it looks like that powerhead stays on, hope it won't give me bad dreams hehe. As for tank turnover, I was told on another site that oxygen content is more important than water flow and people usually have a lot of flow because its that that gives the tank oxygen. They said that too much flow ...

In regards to the Malaysian live bearing snail, I have gravel, but its extremely fine, more like a sand-gravel. Will you get the toxic gas porblem with that? And I have put a few cory's in the tank, mainly for something to look at, but will they lose their barbals on such a fine substrate? And is th...

Tank turnover and Oxygen content at night

Ok I have a tank around 100 litres which is going to be exclusively used for a few Zebra's. I have two Fluval 3 internal filters which each give a 700 litre turnover, and I have an Aquaclear 20 Powerhead (just used for waterflow, no air)which gives about 500 litres per hour and an Aquaclear 30 Power...

That is one option but suffice to say hardly plausible. Is there any means of aquiring them as you would with another rare fish, or does anyone have more information about if they are going to become available.

Personally if this person is saying you can pick up the fish yourself I would say they are legit. And BTW those Zebra's look in good health.

That is indeed a very imprssive Loricariidae species. Lets hope it does not fall victim to the aquatic trade however much we want one. However I still would say it does not surpass the Zebra pleco, its not as startling. I would pay about £500 for a trio of those.

So I should not bother trying to keep them with Zebra's if I am attempting to breed them in the next few months?

I thought that they might intice a little more territorial response in the Zebra's and thus perhaps make a breeding trigger...

Corydoras Catfish with Zebra's

I just wondered if anyone thinks there would be much benifit in keeping some Corydoras in my exclusive Zebra plec tank?

The only disadvantage is that they may eat the food before the zebra's get it but what are your thoughts?
