Mine does that too. I think he does that for two reasons. First he wants to eat more and fatten up a bid. Second he wants to socialize with females. I don't think it will last very long for your male and he will soon be ready to take another spawn.

They are a bit young to sex. But my best guess is 1,4 & 6 are females. As others said, you have a good mix. Just be patience for another year or 2, your group should begin to spawn for you. Wish your best luck.

What is your water quality? Have you fed them with live food? Either way might caused some kind of infections.

Are they really young. I would recommend smaller tank like 20 gallon if they are less than a year old.

I use blue LED dimmer lights and I really love them 'cause they are not afraid of coming out and look for food under those lights. You can enjoy watching them better. :D

I would also recommend some more hiding places and especially some slate rock to put on top of the caves. Females like to stay either top or side of the cave where the alpha male stays. :D

just a small layer will be fine. zebras don't eat a lot so you don't have to feed them a lot. I keep some snails with my fish to get rid of left over foods. I do water change twice a week and my tank is always clean.
