I know I am going to not exactly be on some peoples favorite list with my posting... but... I read the rules.. there is nothing in them about the sale of wild caught Zebras... either legally caught or not. There is something in there about commercial sales and I would guess that is how Babrie contac...

When you refer to bad snails what type are you referring to? I keep Malazian Trumpet Snails in my Zeb tank as they help remove some of the detrius in the tank andmove the light layer of substrate around. A number of people use zuchinni (courgette) in their tank to help remove the snails. Take a smal...

This really goes to prove that price is relative to location. For about the same size of pleco I paid CA$450 at a LFS about an hours drive outside of where I live. Will be getting 4 more at the same price in a few weeks too.

Good luck with your new purchase and looking for more!

The don't always behave the way they are supposed to. I just got my first on Wednesday and the little guy is already out and exploring the tank. Usually they take a week or two from what I have heard to get brave enough to venture around during the daylight hours. My guy was out within 24hrs.

Zebra Tankmates?

I am curious what are acceptable tankmates for the Zebra pleco? I have a 40gal breeder tank (36"x18"x15") that I will eventually be using for these plecos. Currently there are a pair of King Tigers and a Sultan in there. I do know that the Sultan will definately have to be moved out o...

I have a Sultan as well, and from what I read on planet catfish as well as other site is that the male had more pronounced fin spines than the female. I have one myself and it is most definately male. Yours seem to be a male and a possible female.

Actually my understanding with regards to fishing line is that you need to add some weight to the line in the tank and out of the tank. That way there is less chance of the pleco getting caught up in it. It is likely that they can injure themselves with the fishing line when there is no weight and t...

Sorry about that there TTA. But on the bright side it sounds like you have a nice healthy set-up and some happy fish that will continue breeding for a while to come.
